in Techiman in the Brong-Ahafo Region of Ghana.
The
company specializes in the provision of Educational and Business management
consultancy services.
Based
on our research findings, we realized that illiteracy still remains pervasive
in our country especially in the Brong Ahafo Region which is the gateway to
Northern Ghana. For instance, while the rate of illiteracy in the Greater Accra
Region and in Ashanti is 21% and 40% respectively, it rises to an alarming 54%
in the Brong Ahafo Region. This is because most of the educational reality show
organized in the country that boost the morale of students to learn seriously
to compete among themselves are always centralized in the southern part of the
country, neglecting the northern part of the country.
In
light of this, Belorm Ghana Limited with endorsement from the Brong-Ahafo
Regional division of the Ghana Education Service is organizing the
Educational Reality Show 2014 in the Brong-Ahafo Region of Ghana as
part of our corporate social responsibility to promote Education and
Entrepreneurship in the Brong Ahafo Region.
This
program is targeted towards the Basic, Senior high and Tertiary students in the
Region. The main objectives of the program is ‘to promote Education and help reduce the
illiteracy rate in the region through Information
and Communication Technology (ICT), Vocational
and Technical Skills at the Basic level, prepare the Senior High School
students for the oil and gas industry
and train the tertiary students on how to start
their own business after graduating’.
The
program kicked-off in October 2013 and still in session now, but the final awards
ceremony will be held in July 2014.
